Old Kraftsman big body jazz guitar by Kay 1950's
I've known this guitar for 30 years. I restored the old dear for it's last owner Jacob, but times change and Jacob traded her back for a vintage Windsor tenor banjo. There's something about this guitar that is special. Kay made hundreds of thousands of arch-top jazz guitars, most sporting steam pressed laminated soundboards just like every Gibson ES335 and ES175, but this guitar has a hand carved solid spruce soundboard! That is unheard of for a large volume manufacturer like Kay. All I can say is this, the erstwhile Andre has re-set and re-fretted the neck on this gem and she is amazing.
